Shell Eco-Marathon 2024-2025
Shell Eco-Marathon: A Breakthrough in Energy Efficiency
Supros supports young engineers in developing energy-efficient solutions.
In 2024, we sponsored a second-year KBTU team to compete in the Shell Eco-Marathon in Lombok, Indonesia. This was their first international experience, where they built an eco-friendly electric vehicle and gained valuable skills.
In 2025, the team advanced to the Shell Eco-Marathon in Qatar at the Lusail International Circuit from February 8-12. Among 61 teams from 20+ countries, they successfully passed the technical inspection, overcoming a challenge from 2024. Competing in the Battery Electric category, they showcased significant progress in energy efficiency. Their achievements were recognized with a $3,000 scholarship and valuable connections with Shell engineers. We are proud of their success and remain committed to supporting sustainable innovation.
Selection Criteria
To be eligible, applicants should be current students with projects addressing critical issues in sustainability, energy efficiency, or innovative engineering. We seek ideas with the potential to create meaningful impact and drive positive change.

Project
Project TCO FGP
Case:
The task was to prepare insulation specifications, select, and supply materials.
Results:
Our solutions enabled precise project material supply, streamlined project management processes, created a comprehensive database for tracking material movements, and helped teams which provided insights for the material management team during storage and issuance for installation. This not only improved cost efficiency but also optimized the overall project management process.
Challenge:
Our goal was to provide a highly efficient construction solution that met the client's standards for reducing thermal leakage and offering competitive pricing.
Our scope of work encompassed:
- Preparation of MTD for insulation materials for thermal insulation
- Accurate material selection based on ISO 9000 quality standards
- Selection and approval of materials
- Professional selection of insulation materials that met both technical requirements and budget constraints, including obtaining optimal time approval for the project materials
- Material supply
- Ensured timely delivery of materials in accordance with the schedule, thereby supporting construction completion
Consistent delivery of high-quality services allows us to successfully handle large and complex projects.

Project Rozhkovskoye field
Case:
In June 2024, the client provided drawings and an insulation calculation carried out. It was discovered that the initial material calculation significantly underestimated the scope of work, necessitating a new solution tailored of rate. This led to a significant cost overrun.
Challenge:
The main challenge was that the initial calculations provided by the design institute contained inconsistencies. The potential result was a shortage requiring insulation, which could have resulted in resource shortages and missed dates. The Supros team identified these inconsistencies before implementation began, supporting the need for revised work volumes and calculations.
Our scope of work encompassed:
- Conducting an independent insulation calculation based on the drawings
- Reviewing design schemes and identifying shortcomings to be fixed and updated
- Coordinating modifications with NES and the design institute
- Selecting materials in accordance with project specifications and client budget
- Organizing timely material deliveries within the project schedule
- Providing an industrial insulation training program for NES engineers and superintendents
Results:
- The revised calculation helped prevent material shortages and avoided delays
- The accuracy of the calculation was improved, enhancing client confidence
- Materials were delivered on time, ensuring uninterrupted project execution
- The design institute acknowledged the effectiveness of the Supros methodology
- A training program on industrial insulation for NES specialists is planned
